IOF troops kill Palestinian, wound others in Qalqilia

QALQILIA, (PIC)-- 

A Palestinian youth was killed and many others wounded in IOF troops' shooting during a pre-dawn incursion into the West Bank city of Qalqilia on Thursday, locals reported.

They said that the IOF unit members fired at Yassin Yassin in Kfar Saba suburb in the city while besieging a number of houses in the area.

IOF command sent into the city armored vehicles and Hummers in addition to army choppers that backed storming operations of civilian homes in the city.

Medical teams told PIC that the situation in Nakar suburb in the city was "serious" as the IOF soldiers blocked entry of ambulance vehicles.

The IOF troops imposed a curfew on the city immediately after advancing into it in more than 40 military vehicles other than a number of bulldozers that partially demolished houses to clear the way before the army vehicles into certain areas amidst intensive firing.

IOF troops kidnap Palestinian girl at pretext of attempting to kill soldier

AL-KHALIL (Hebron), PIC-- 

The IOF troops kidnapped on Wednesday a Palestinian young woman named Fida Ghannam in Al-Khalil at the pretext of attempting to stab an Israeli soldier with a knife and took her to an unknown destination, according to eyewitnesses.

As a part of the series of Israeli kidnappings, in northern West Bank, on Wednesday, the IOF troops also kidnapped two 18-year-old young men during their incursion into Qablan town south of Nablus.

In southern West Bank, they kidnapped at an early hour on Thursday a 30-year-old Palestinian citizen named Jamil Al-Assa in the storming of the Obeidiyya town east of Bethlehem; in addition, they kidnapped 20 others in various parts of the West Bank, 12 of whom were kidnapped in a military operation in Qalqilya.

In retaliation to the Israeli crimes, the "Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades," the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine along with "Al-Nasser Salahudin Brigades," the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for the bombing of an Israeli vehicle at an early hour on Thursday near "Itamar" settlement, in Nablus, northern West Bank.

Israeli Occupation Troops Kill Citizen in Qalqilia

QALQILIYA, June 14, 2007 (WAFA) - 

Israeli occupation soldiers Thursday killed a citizen during a thrust in Qalqilia in the northern West Bank, medical sources said.

According to the sources, Israeli occupation troops which entered the city opened fire at citizens and killed a military unit entered city and killed a citizen and arrested others.

Israeli occupation army shoots Palestinian Resistance fighter in Qalqilia, kidnaps 10 other civilians

On Thursday at dawn around 60 Israeli occupation army vehicles stormed the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia. During the invasion, Israeli troops surrounded a group of Palestinian resistance men, killing one and injuring another.

Sources told IMEMC that Israeli forces attacked the city from several directions and imposed a curfew on the city, confining thousands to their homes.

On the Eastern side of the city, Israeli forces surrounded 4 Palestinian resistance men, said to be from Fatah's Al-Aqsa Brigades. The men clashed with the soldiers, during which Yassin Yassin, a Brigades member, was killed.

Another fighter, identified as Ahmed Ishawi, was injured and subsequently kidnapped by the invading troops. The other two managed to flee the scene unharmed.

Sources added that the Israeli army kept the body of Yassin for several hours before releasing it to the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance. Troops continued their operations, searching homes and ransacking them, and have so far have kidnapped 10 Palestinian civilians.

The Israeli occupation army clamed that the operation in Qalqilia city is aimed at targeting what the army calls "Wanted Palestinians".

Na'eem Sowelem, a correspondent for Palestinian Television in Qalqilia said that during the invasion troops shot at and forced local journalists to leave the area of the invasion, no injuries among the journalists were reported.

Sowelem added that clashes erupted all over the city between local youths and the invading soldiers. He added that 10 youths were injured by Israeli army fire, two of whom are in a critical condition.

Last week, the Israeli occupation army conducted 35 military invasions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank, killing 3 people and injuring at least 16.
