TIPH slams Israeli roadblocks in Hebron

The Temporary Internal Presence in Hebron (TIPH) which is a civilian observer mission issued a press release on Sunday slamming the Israeli checkpoints in the city, and stated that the checkpoints in the Old City of Hebron are obstructing the movement of the residents.

The statement of TIPH came after twelve Palestinian stores were reopened on Saturday after they we shut down by the army for an extended period.

TIPH stated that “these checkpoints remain the cause in instability in the region, and force the owners of the shops to close them”.

Karl-Henrik Sjursen, head of Mission of TIPH, stated that TIPH demanded the Israeli military commander in Hebron to remove these roadblocks.

The TIPH stated that removing these roadblocks will provide the needed atmosphere which will enable the residents to go back to their normal lives, and will positively affect the economical situation in the city.

Over the last several years, TIPH financed several projects the initiatives that would help in restoring normal life in the city.

IOF troops storm and ransack Palestinian homes in Al-Khalil and Nablus

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)- - 

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) troops have stormed and ransacked at dawn Sunday a number of houses in the old city of Al-Khalil, southern West Bank; no arrests or casualties among Palestinian citizens have been reported, according to eyewitnesses.

In Nablus, large numbers of IOF troops advanced late Saturday night from the Hawara checkpoint into the Balata and Askar refugee camps in the city as clashes took place between the Palestinian resistance and Israeli soldiers without resulting in the kidnapping or wounding of any citizen, local sources reported.

Later on midnight Saturday the IOF troops advanced into downtown Nablus amid intensive gunfire and raided and ransacked a number of houses in the area.

In retaliation to the persistent Israeli atrocities against Palestinian people, the Qassam Brigades, the Hamas's armed wing, managed at an early hour Sunday to fire four 60-mm mortar shells on a gathering of IOF troops along with their armored vehicles east of "Absan" in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, in addition to firing three 80-mm mortar shells on Saturday evening at the "Zionist Memorial" east of Beit Hanoun town.

In a joint operation, the Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's armed wing, along with martyr Yasser Arafat Brigades fired successfully on Saturday night tree upgraded homemade rockets on the strategic coastal city of Ashkelon, in 1948 Palestinian occupied lands, in response to the assassination of seven Palestinians on Saturday in Gaza in IOF air raids; on the same day, the Quds Brigades also managed to fire two "Quds 3" rockets on Sderot settlement located in the northeast of Gaza Strip.
