Palestinian women in Tenf border refugee camp between Iraq and Syria appeal to the world to end their tragedy

Palestinian women in Tenf border camp appeal to the world to end their tragedy

[ 19/07/2007 - 12:01 PM ]

DAMASCUS, (PIC)--

The Palestinian women trapped in the Tenf border camp between Syria and Iraq appealed on Wednesday in a message to the Arab and Islamic nation and the international human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities towards the human tragedy they have been experiencing along with their children and husbands for more than one year.

As a result of being targeted by the USA occupation troops and some Iraqi militia after the invasion of Iraq, large numbers of Palestinian refugees living there had fled to the Syrian border with Iraq, after the atrocities practiced against them claimed the lives of dozens; besides, hundreds of them were put in jails. More than 1,200 Palestinian refugees are still stuck in the Tenf and Waleed camps in the middle of the desert amid harsh living conditions.

In a lengthy message, the Palestinian women addressed the Arab and Islamic nation asking with the pain gripping their hearts: "What sin have we committed to be displaced, for our money to be looted and for our young men to be killed?!"

They concluded their message appealing to the Arab and Islamic world and the EU, especially the Palestinian communities in Europe, to save them of this crisis and to work on finding a swift solution to their tragedy.
