Israeli occupation forces kidnap 7 Palestinians, 45 in two days, close off only link between Qalqilya city and its southern villages IOF troops kidnap 45 Palestinians within two days [ 11/07/2007 - 04:18 PM ] TULKARM, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) troops last night and at dawn Wednesday rounded up 10 Palestinians in various West Bank areas bringing the number of kidnapped civilians to 45 in less than 48 hours. The IOF soldiers at dawn Tuesday abducted 35 citizens in a clear sign of escalating arrests of Palestinian civilians and at a time the Israeli government says it will release 250 Palestinian prisoners. Several IOF incursions were reported in Nablus and its refugee camps along with Bethlehem district and Al-Khalil during which indiscriminate fire was opened at Palestinian buildings. Meanwhile, Palestinian armed wings claimed responsibility for launching a number of home made rockets and mortar shells at IOF vehicles and military positions in Nahal Oz, north of the Gaza Strip, and Karm Abu Salem, south of the Strip. The Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that it managed to fire a mortar shell for the first time at Sderot settlement. In an unrelated development, the IOA last night released Sheikh Mohammed Al-Kharof, 44, after six months of administrative detention, without trial or charge. Kharof, who works as a paramedic at a hospital in Al-Khalil, is a father of four children and was kidnapped while on his way home. He was previously held in occupation jails on charges of membership in the Hamas Movement. The abducted Palestinians were identified as: Amer Abu Ramoz, 20, and Abed El Ghani, 23, both from Hebron; Ayob Al Zagharer, 30, from Al Samowa'; and Isamael Al Awowawdeh, 44, from Dora. At the same time, Israeli military forces carried out a wide scale ransacking operation targeted several areas in and around Hebron. Security sources reported that a large Israeli occupation unit stormed several city neighborhoods, shooting randomly at residents. No injuries were reported. During the invasion of Balata refugee camp, Israeli occupation forces kidnapped one Palestinian civilian identified as Mohammad Faraj, after ransacking his home and confiscating his belongings. The Israeli troops launched a wide-scale operation in Balata refugee camp targeting several other households. In the same attack, the Israeli occupation forces took over Ein El Ma' refugee camp, located west of Nablus City. They caused a massive explosion in the area, inflicting damage but no injuries, according to local sources. Nablus and its' refugee camps are subjected to almost daily Israeli invasions, which have become even more violent in the past two weeks, stifling the livelihoods of civilians there, said local Palestinians.
