Israeli sources affirmed that seven of the arrested men are Fateh operatives from 'Azzun near Qalqilya; they are accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at Israeli cars. Another nine Fateh operatives were arrested in 'Anabta village near Tulkarem. The sources also said that during the Israeli military's search-and-arrest campaign, the Israeli forces found two homemade pistols. Late on Monday, undercover Israeli forces also entered the village of Birqin, located south west of Jenin, in the north of the occupied West Bank, and arrested ten Palestinians. This came later on the same day that the local leader of the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, was assassinated by Israeli forces. Several other men escaped assassination while at least five were arrested. Eyewitnesses told Ma'an that undercover Israeli Special Forces, disguised in civilian clothes, stormed a café in the centre of the village, with Israeli soldiers and military vehicles as reinforcements. The disguised soldiers claimed there were some "wanted" Palestinians in the café. The witnesses added that the special force besieged the café and banned the customers from leaving while the soldiers shot intensively in the air. They then arrested ten men in the café. In an extensive search-and-arrest campaign, the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped some twenty Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank early on Tuesday. In Nablus, the Israeli troops besieged the Al-Atiba building near the Al Quds Open University in the west of the city, before arresting two members of Fatah's armed wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades. Palestinian security sources said that the Israeli forces arrested Nidal Al-Faqih, who is considered a prominent Al Aqsa leader in the area, and who has been considered 'wanted' for many years. The sources added that Al Faqih was arrested with his comrade, Samir Iran, and the owner of the building, Ali Ashour. The Israeli troops had besieged the building with dozens of military vehicles and two bulldozers since the early hours of this morning. Eyewitnesses said that the troops forced the residents to evacuate the building, including the women and children. The soldiers also used loudspeakers to demand that the men surrender. They then broke into the building and arrested the three men. According to Israeli sources, twenty 'wanted' Palestinians were arrested on Tuesday morning, including seven Fatah operatives in 'Azzun village near Qalqilya and nine Fatah operatives in 'Anabta village near Tulkarem.
