Jordanian government prevents Palestinian deputy speaker of the PLC, Hassan Khuraishah, from entering Jordan Jordanian authorities prevent deputy speaker of the PLC from entering Jordan Date: 30 / 06 / 2007 Time: 20:19 Bethlehem - Ma'an – For the second time in recent weeks, on Saturday the Jordanian government prevented second deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), Hassan Khuraisha, from entering Jordan on his way to Brussels. In a telephone call with Ma'an, Dr Khuraisha said that he was travelling to Brussels via Jordan in order to participate in a meeting organized by the Council of Europe. The Jordanian authorities denied him entry for the second time, despite the intervention of President Abbas and the Palestinian embassy in Jordan. Khuraisha added that he was stopped by the Jordanians at Allenby Bridge, between the Palestinian West Bank and Jordan, and no reason was given for him being prohibited from entering Jordan.
