That airstrike also destroyed a three-story house belonging to Kahn Younis resident Ahmad Abu Tair.

Undercover Israeli forces kill one of Ahmad Qurei's body guards near Ramallah

Date: 28 / 12 / 2007 Time: 10:41

Bethlehem – Nablus – Ma'an –

Undercover Israeli forces (death squads) killed a body guard assigned to protect the head of the Palestinian negotiating team, former Prime Minister Ahmad Qurei, in the West Bank town of Beituniya, near Ramallah on Friday morning.

Medical sources confirmed that the victim was twenty-three-year-old Mu'atasim Al-Sharif, an officer in the Palestinian Presidential Guards, the elite 17 Forces and one of Qurei's personal guards.

Witnesses said the undercover Israeli soldiers stormed Al-Sharif's house in Beituniya and shot him. The witnesses said Al-Sharif did not resist his attackers.

Al-Sharif died in an ambulance en route to the government hospital in Ramallah.

Al-Sharif was not considered "wanted" by Israel any reason. Qurei was not in the vicinity at the time of the attack.

Hamas demands from Abbas to stop meeting with Olmert due to the continuous Israeli attacks on Gaza

Thursday December 27, 2007 15:18 by IMEMC Staff - IMEMC News ghassanb at imemc dot org

In a statement issued by Hamas on Thursday the movement stated that it is very strange that the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas continues to meet with the Israeli Premier Ehod Olmert while the Israeli army persists with its attacks on the Gaza strip.

The movement also questioned why Abbas does not recognize legitimate political and national demands of the Palestinians. The Hamas movement won the Palestinian parliamentary election in 2006; this victory was followed by a year of fighting in the Gaza strip between Hamas and Abbas' Fateh party. The fighting finished in late June 2007 when Hamas outrun Fatah and took total control of the Gaza strip. Since them the Palestinian President outlawed the movement, fired its government and appointed his own government which is based in Ramallah. On Thursday a statement from Hamas showed its dissatisfaction towards some Palestinians officials who still meet with Israeli officials in a time when the Israeli army continue to attack the Gaza strip, and settlement activity in the West Bank continues in addition to the Israeli policy of assassinating Palestinians and their resistance leaders, the statement said. The Hamas movement has asked the Palestinian president to immediately stop all meetings with the Israeli Premier Ehod Olmert because it supports the Israeli army attacks on the Palestinians and provides those attacks with political cover, Hamas said.

The leadership of the movement said in their statement that the Israeli Palestinian meetings are useless and have no positive impact on the Palestinians and their case since the Israelis are not willing to give on anything, as Dr Sa'eb Irikat, chief Palestinian negotiator said, the statement read.
