Israeli occupation forces abduct brother of martyred resistance fighter, Alaa Abu Surour, who was killed on Saturday in Jenin

Jenin – Ma'an –

Israeli occupation forces on Sunday abducted the brother of the 'Martyr' Alaa Abu Surour, who was assassinated by Israeli soldiers on Saturday in Jenin.

The Israeli occupation troops launched a search campaign in Jenin refugee camp and Qabatiya, both in the northern occupied Palestinian West Bank.

The military wing of Islamic Jihad, the Al Quds Brigades, clashed with Israeli soldiers and exchanged fire during an incursion into Qabatiya early on Sunday morning.

The brigades said that they used machine guns and hand-grenades during the clashes.

Local sources informed Ma'an's correspondent that the Israeli forces arrested 19-year-old Mustafa Abu Surour, the brother of an Al Quds Brigades fighter killed in Jenin on Saturday.

The soldiers were deployed outside the Abu Surour home and ordered the family to leave, before ransacking the house and taking Mustafa to an undisclosed destination.

Security sources said that the Israeli forces patrolled the streets of Jenin refugee camp and stormed numerous homes, claiming they sought so-called 'wanted' Palestinians. In Qabatiya, south of Jenin, the troops transformed Palestinian homes into military posts.

Sources from the Al Quds Brigades told Ma'an that a group confronted the Israeli occupation forces in Qabatiya. The sources said "fierce clashes erupted and hand-grenades were used in the attack".

The sources added "many explosive devices were detonated as the Israeli forces entered the town and several soldiers were hit and injured."
