46 Iraqis Killed, Including 8 Executed by Death Squads, According to an August 26, 2007 Initial Report

 

The Iraq News Agency (INA) reported the following news on August 26, 2007.

- US helicopters attacked a Kurdish police station in Qurat Taba, in Khanaqin, east of Ba'aqouba, killing four Beshmerga soldiers and injuring 11 of them, in a new friendly fire operation.

- 24,500 Iraqis are in US prisons in Iraq, increasing them by 50% since the "Surge."

- 22 Iraqis were killed, 48 injured, 128 arrested.

Sotaliraq newspapers reported the following:

- 10 bodies of Iraqis executed by death squads were found in Baghdad on Saturday.

- A woman was killed, six others were injured in Al-Doura, south of Baghdad.

- Another woman, a shepherd, was killed by a bomb explosion, south of Kirkuk.

- US-led Iraqi forces killed eight Iraqi fighters and arrested 81 others.

- There are now 400 military checkpoints in Baghdad, cutting the city into pieces.

The US news agency, Associated press, did not report on any attacks or deaths from the US war in Iraq, on Sunday until 10:00 am ET.
