8 Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation Forces Death Squads in Last 12 Hours Al-Quds Brigades leader and one other operative assassinated by Israeli occupation forces in Jenin, four others injured Date: 25 / 08 / 2007 Time: 09:54 Jenin- Ma'an- A leader of the Islamic Jihad-affiliated Al-Quds Brigades, Alaa Salah Mohammad Surour, has been killed in Jenin, while four others were injured, when an Israeli occupation forces death squad (Special Forces) launched a military operation in the city, early on Saturday morning. One of those injured, Mustafa 'Ateeq, 23, also an Al Quds operative, has now died from his injuries sustained this morning. He received a gunshot to his neck. Eyewitnesses reported that "the man and his comrades were in a car in the city center, when they stopped to drink coffee in one of the cafes. They did not leave their car, but stopped for a little while. In the meantime, a Volkswagen car suddenly arrived. Several Israeli soldiers jumped out and started shooting at the car and its immediate vicinity. Surour was killed instantly, and three of his comrades were injured, one of which seriously. Another citizen, named Ali Abu Rmaila was also seriously injured." The witnesses added that Israeli units were identified in three cars, several military jeeps and armored vehicles, patrolling the streets of the city in the north of the West Bank. The spokesman of the brigades told Ma'an via telephone that the "brigades will retaliate strongly, and that the reaction will come very soon." He concluded that "resistance is the only option to stand and face the occupation." The spokesperson of the Israeli army stated that an Israeli soldier was injured during clashes with armed Palestinian fighters. He told press that the injured soldier was transferred to Barzalai hospital in Ashkelon for treatment. Ma'an's correspondent in Jenin reported that Alaa Surour, 25, from the Al Quds Brigades, was killed, and four others injured, in Jenin. One of those injured in the Jenin attack has subsequently died from his injuries. Mustafa 'Ateeq, 23, also from the Al Quds Brigades, received a gunshot to his neck. In the Gaza Strip, the National Resistance Brigades of the DFLP announced that two of their members were killed during a guerilla operation near the Erez Crossing on the northern borders of the Strip early on Saturday morning. The PRC-affiliated An Nasser Salah Ad Din Brigades announced that armed clashes erupted between a group of their fighters, alongside other fighters from the Al Aqsa Brigades [Fateh], and Israeli military forces in an operation near Erez Crossing also on Saturday morning. Medical sources in Gaza said that the two Palestinians, killed last night, have now been identified. Dr Muawiya Hasanein announced that the two men were Humam Ahmad Nasir, 18, and Mustafa Adnan Nasir, 17, both from Jabalia in the north of the Strip. Tariq Milhim, 22, from Islamic Jihad's Al-Quds Brigades was killed, along with 11 year old Mahmoud Qarnawi, during an Israeli attack in Seida, north of Tulkarem. The Al-Quds Brigades have issued a statement, declaring, "The assassination policy will not stop the resistance, and will only motivate the fighters and strengthen them." The statement avowed that this Israeli policy "reflects the real intentions of the Israeli occupation and shows that the amnesties which they announce are not genuine." The statement called on Palestinian factions "to confront the Israeli escalation of violence". The spokesperson of the Israeli army admitted that an Israeli soldier was injured in clashes with armed Palestinian fighters. He revealed that the injured soldier was transferred to Barzalai hospital in Ashkelon for treatment. The Israeli occupation army claimed that armed Palestinians had attempted to undertake a large operation against the Israeli forces stationed in the northern Gaza Strip. The Palestinians were allegedly disguised in Israeli military uniform. Two killed during Israeli incursion to Seida Date: 25 / 08 / 2007 Time: 10:08 Tulkarem – Ma'an- In a huge military operation launched by Israeli forces late on Friday evening in Seida town, north of Tulkarem, the Palestinian child, Mahmoud Ibrahim Qarnawi, 11, the Islamic Jihad operative, Tariq Ziad Milhim, 22, were both killed. During the operation, the brother of the child was also seriously injured before being arrested by occupying Israeli soldiers, who took him to an unknown destination. Ma'an's correspondent reported that Israeli forces stormed the city of Tulkarem late on Friday evening, besieging the home of Islamic Jihad operative, Siddiq Oada. Troops entered the town amid intensive shooting, during which the child was shot and killed, while his brother, Milhim, another Islamic Jihad member, was injured. It has been reported that Siddiq Oada has been "wanted" by the Israeli authorities for many years. The bodies of the two dead Palestinians were transported to the governmental hospital in the city. The city later witnessed fierce confrontations between Palestinian citizens in the city and the Israeli forces. Local residents threw stones at the soldiers, while the Israeli troops used sound grenades and tear gas bombs to disperse the Palestinians.
