Six Palestinians killed in Israeli occupation air raid over central Gaza Date: 20 / 08 / 2007 Time: 18:21 Gaza – Ma'an – Six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli shelling of a car in central Gaza on Monday. Director of ambulances and emergencies in the Palestinian ministry of health, Dr Muawiya Hassanain, said that six corpses arrived at hospital. The bodies were charred and in pieces, said Dr Hassanain. Several other Palestinians were evacuated to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. Spokesperson of the Israeli military said that the shelling targeted Palestinians who had fired missiles at Israeli locations from a nearby area of Gaza. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli fighter jets launched four missiles at a car driven my members of Hamas' Qassam Brigades, two of whom work with the Executive Force, also of Hamas. At the time of the attack, the car was driving near the Makbolah, a Palestinian military base, east of Al-Buraij refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip. Dr Hassanain said that four of the bodies were identified as; Abdul Khaleq Al-Heluw, Ali Baroud, Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qurainawy and Ahmad Ali Al-Qurainawy. *** Note to readers: The Israeli settlements as well as the Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall in the Palestinian occupied territories have been built illegally on confiscated Palestinian lands. These represent a major violation of international law, Geneva Conventions, and they obstruct reaching a peaceful resolution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The Israeli occupation forces abduct and kidnap Palestinians from their homes on daily basis. Most media refer to these abductions and kidnappings as arrests, which is inaccurate and not true as the Israeli occupation government has no jurisdiction over Palestinian citizens inside their own territories.
