John McCain Continues to Demonstrate Ignorance About Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, Servitude to Outdated Israeli Extremist Settler Rhetoric

News Commentary By Hassan El-Najjar

ccun.org, June 18, 2008

Few weeks ago, the Arizona Senator and Republican presidential candidate John McCain announced that if elected he would be the nightmare of Hamas.

Apparently, those who advised him to make that announcement were looking for support from the extremist Zionists. However, McCain and his advisors demonstrated ignorance about what was going on in the Middle East, basically Israeli-Hamas negotiations about a ceasefire agreement.

Thus, while Israelis now have acknowledged that the Hamas-led Gaza Strip is a neighboring Palestinian territory to coexist with, the McCain camp was still using the rhetoric of extremist illegal Israeli settlers who have been dreaming to evict all Palestinians from their homeland and replace them.

Another piece of evidence about ignorance of Senator McCain and his advisors about the basic facts of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was his use of the "Jordanian Option" to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in favor of the invading Zionist settlers.

This defunct Zionist wish aims at evicting Palestinians to Jordan, where they can establish their own state, leaving all Palestine for Zionists. This hallucination was produced in the 1970s but quickly Jordan dissociated itself from it, the Arab League recognized the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people. Then, the UN annually has reiterated the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, as expressed in various UN resolutions, particularly 181, 194, 242, 338.

Even the Bush administration finally realized that the main explanation of its policy failure around the world, and especially in the Middle East, is the US blind support for the Israeli occupation government in its continuous aggression against the Palestinian people. Therefore, Bush acknowledged that the way out is the establishment of a viable Palestinian state (though he capitulated to Israelis and could not fulfill his promise that it will happen in 2008).

For McCain and his advisors to resurrect the "Jordanian Option," they have assured the American people and the world that they cater for the Zionist extremist settler defunct ideology.

Moreover, perhaps more interesting for the archaeological record, they have provided unequivocal evidence that we still have some dinosaurs around!

Islamic Movement in Jordan warns of "Jordanian option" idea raised by McCain

[ 18/06/2008 - 10:45 AM ]

AMMAN, (PIC)--

The Islamic Movement in Jordan warned of the gravity of what was stated by John McCain, the republican candidate for the US presidential elections, about adopting the Jordanian option to get rid of the burden placed by the Palestinian cause on the public policy of his country in the Middle East.

An advisor to McCain said that the latter adopts a strategy to resolve the conflict in the Middle East based on the Jordanian option which states that Jordan is the natural home for millions of Palestinians and the best solution to the issue of the Palestinian refugees.

Irheel Gharaibah, the secretary-general of the Islamic action front party in Jordan, underlined that such statements reflect a very serious juncture in the American official discourse and an inauguration of a new stage calling for disengaging from any commitments to international laws regarding the Palestinian land and refugees.

Gharaibah called on those preoccupied with reaching frivolous settlements with Israel to read well the Zio-American vision rather than wagering on the American positions towards the Palestinian cause and the entire Arab issues.

He noted that the Islamic Movement had warned on more than one occasion of Zio-American statements adopting the Jordanian option and called on the Arab and Islamic governments to sever relations with Israel and to re-consider their subservience to the US policy.

The Jordanian leader called on his country to re-evaluate its foreign policy so as to restore its balance away from the hubs of the American policy and to pave the way for a unified Arab stance against the Zio-American schemes aimed to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
