Atlantans to Protest CNN's Coverup of Israeli Atrocities against the Palestinian People, Sunday, Nov 7, 2004 at 2 PM

      WHAT: A protest against CNN's
coverage, the Apartheid Wall, and the
countless Palestinian victims that are left homeless, wounded, or dead as
      the result of Israeli aggression.
      WHEN: Sunday, November 7, 2004, 2:00
      pm
WHERE: Across from CNN Center, at the
corner of Marietta and Centennial Olympic Park
      WHO: Atlanta Palestine Solidarity,
      supporters, and concerned citizens
WHY: CNN not only fails to report on
the countless Palestinian victims of Israeli
aggression but instead promotes unbalanced coverage of the
      Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For example:
      • Recently, a 13-year-old Palestinian girl was murdered by an Israeli
      officer; CNN makes no mention of this;
      • CNN also neglects to report that a father of six, stopping to help a
stranded settler motorist, was gunned down at point-blank range by the
settler, who'd been lying in wait for a Palestinian to kill.

      • CNN reports that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon speaks of
      withdrawal
from Gaza, but omits that he has launched a war against the Palestinians
      living there.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to build a wall on no border recognized by
international law. CNN's lukewarm reference to this “separation barrier”
has not mentioned the lives that have been uprooted, the land that has
      been
stolen to build it, or the people that are suffering. Instead, CNN airs
specials about the Israeli casualties of the Intifada and makes
little-to-no mention of the Palestinians who die every day.

"CNN has repeatedly neglected to report Palestinian casualties as a result
of Israeli assaults and aggressions, as well as Palestinian attempts to
resist the Israeli occupation non-violently," states Hazem Ziada, Atlanta
Palestine Solidarity member. "The picture CNN paints to its relatively
wide viewership is heavily distorted and does not reflect facts on the
ground. By continuing its unbalanced coverage of the Palestinian-Israeli
conflict, CNN actually helps propagate the suffering and furthers the
      violence."
Atlantans will protest CNN's coverage and the Apartheid Wall, and remember
the countless Palestinian victims that are left homeless, wounded, or dead
as the result of Israeli aggression.

Time Out "A potently expressive musical angle on the world we live in". Jazzwise "it's a taste well worth acquiring because you realise what a profound, moving experience Atzmon's lone voice raised in protest has been". The Observer "...the work of an independent and unruly spirit still in turbulent evolution. The Guardian "This album feels like a spell in a nightclub at the edge of oblivion". Evening Standard "Atzmon is essentially a jazz man, and everything emanates from his moodily lyrical playing-with the most telling moments those closest to home. The Daily Telegraph "His flow of ideas and coherent marshalling of them makes for solos that are as exhilarating as they are impassioned". The Herald "...fantastiK" Sunday Tribune for more information:
